1-week Certified Aesthetic Laser Operator Course

The 1-week course for Certified Aesthetic Laser Operator covers details relating to skin physiology, which is the anatomy of skin and hair. This class also educates on the evolution of lasers and light therapy, aesthetic laser safety and physics, laser and light parameters and applications, and tissue interaction in both pre- and post-procedure settings. The CALO course teaches patient assessment, which includes client selection, contraindications, Fitzpatrick skin typing, and consultations. A contraindication is any condition that serves as a reason for a patient to not receive certain medical treatment, such as laser therapy. Grey’s Academy students will learn all aspects of certified laser treatment, including when it is not applicable to a patient for any medical reason. Students at Grey’s Academy will also be taught about Fitzpatrick skin typing, which is a system developed in 1975 to classify skin type according to the amount of pigment one’s skin has and that person’s skin reaction to sun exposure. Medical professionals who are certified in laser treatment use the Fitzpatrick skin typing system to gauge various types of skins’ reaction to the sun and how effective laser treatment will be for the patients based on their skin type. Grey’s Academy students will learn techniques for various skin types and how to properly treat each patient.

At the end of the CALO course at Grey’s Academy, students will conduct a final examination, then a certificate of completion will be issued upon passing the exam. By educating our Certified Laser Treatment professionals on consulting patients before and after the treatment, our clients can make Blush & Grey their one-stop shop for medical wellness in Colorado Springs.
