1 Week Course: Certified Aesthetic Laser Operator (CALO)

** Tuition and fees for the Certified Aesthetic Laser Operator course are $5,350 and include all textbooks, supplies, and lunches during the course. This course is approved and regulated by the state of Colorado Division of Private Occupational Schools (DPOS), and that they satisfy Colorado Rule 800.

Course Description

This course covers in detail skin physiology (anatomy of skin and hair), the evolution of lasers and light therapy, aesthetic laser safety and physics, patient assessment (client selection, contraindications, Fitzpatrick skin typing, and consultations), laser and light parameters and application, and tissue interaction (pre/post procedure).

Upon successful completion of all course units and final examination a certificate of completion will be issued.

Method of Instruction

This course will consist of 20 hours at home instruction, as well as 35 hours classroom instruction to include hands on with the Candela GentleMax Pro  755 Alexandrite and 1064 Nd:YAG

Course Objective

  • Assess skin type and determine proper laser/ light therapy treatment through consultation
  • Evaluate laser/light therapy based technologies and determine applications based on client indication
  • Perform safe and effective laser/ light therapy procedures
  • Apply theory, science, and practice

Course Topics and Dates

At home instruction (20 hours) to include Introduction to Laser and Light therapy, Anatomy and Physiology of the Skin, Laser and Light therapy devices, Consultations (skin typing, contraindications, pre/post care), and Laser and Light therapy safety.

Each day consists of 8 hours of instruction time and 1 hour for lunch.

Textbooks and Required Tools or Supplies

  • Milady’s Aesthetician Series “Lasers and Light Therapy” Cengage Learning
  • GentleMax Pro laser, isopropyl alcohol, 4×4 gauze pads, facial cleanser, laser goggles, sunscreen (supplied by Grey’s Academy).

Available Course Dates

Monday, July 11th 2022 – Registration by June 20th. The distance education portion begins by the 24th of June and must be completed before the 1st day of in person class on July 11th.

Monday, Sept 12th 2022 – Registration by August 22nd 2022. The distance education portion to begin by the 26th of August.

Monday, November 14th 2022 – Registration by October 17th. The distance education portion begins by Oct 21.
